Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Psychology

I am a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Psychology at the University of Exeter. My research focuses on the nexus of cognitive and clinical and health psychology, looking into how our minds process emotional information. This work delves into the complexities of how our mind can be biased, how this affects our emotions, and how this knowledge can be used in the development of psychological interventions to improve mental health.

I earned my PhD in Psychology from the University of Western Australia in 2016, where I was supervised by Prof. Colin MacLeod. Following this I worked at the Western Australia Centre for Health and Ageing as the coordinator of a set of cognitive intervention trials aimed at alleviating depression symptoms amongst people with dementia. In 2018 I moved to a Research Associated position, and then to a Research Fellow position, at the Centre for the Advancement of Research on Emotion, School of Psychological Science, University of Western Australia where my research widely investigated the role of information processing on emotion and behaviour.

In 2022, I commenced as Lecturer at the University of Exeter, and I maintain an Adjunct Resesarch Fellow position at the University of Western Australia.
